Year 1: Light energy and sound energy. The year 1 students will be focusing on light and sound and using their senses to make and record observations about these forms of energy.
Year 2: The year 2 students will be exploring forces with a focus on push and pull. They will use this information when planning and conduct investigations.
Year 3: Year 3 students will focus on heat energy. They will discover different sources of heat and which materials are better suited for transferring heat.
Year 4: Students investigate forces. They will discover how many things we use rely on forces in their operation. Following Newton's law they will investigate if stronger forces affect the distance an object will travel.
Year 5: Students in year 5 will be investigating light energy. They will focus on what light energy is and how it travels. Using their knowledge that light travels in straight lines, they will investigate ways in which they can get light to turn corners.
Year 6: The year students will be investigating different types of energy. They will focus on electrical energy and making circuits.
